If a driver is late they will not be included in qualifying or a heat.  If you notify an official ahead of time that you are going to be late we will add you to the last group and you will still be allowed to qualify. 3.  ROUGH DRIVING

For the time being this series is open to everyone, however, it will be limited to clean drivers.  The goal at OAS is to provide highly competitve racing for the best sim racers on the web, and has succceded in doing so in the past.  We encourage anyone and everyone to join us, but if you don't feel as though you are ready to compete in such a challenging atmosphere we ask that you stay away until you know you're ready.  It is not our intention put anyone down or be rude or mean, but if you are not struggling and cannot race with others you will be asked to leave.  If you cannot respect other drivers on the track you will be asked to leave.  As we have learned from experience, one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch.  Not to discrouage anyone from competeing, but rough driving will not be tolerated. Also all lap cars must yield to leaders, any lap cars that interfere with leaders may be subject to same punishments as rough driving. In order to keep the series fun and competitve OAS reservers the right to bar anyone at anytime with or without warning.  Consequences for dirty driving and lap traffic will be handled on a case by case basis, and may include verbal warnings, suspensions, points deductions, bannings, etc. OAS officials will decide how to handle incidents.

4.  RACE FORMAT

All competitors who are in vent on time will be split up into random groups.  All groups will qualify individually and run a 10-12 lap heat race (depending on car count and size of track) immediately after qualifying.  Where you qualify in your group is where you start in your heat (no inverts).  If there are 13 cars or less we will qualify and run the A-Main.  The fastest overall qualifier to not transfer from their heat will be awarded a qualifying provisional and will start the A main behind the last heat qualifer.  Following heat races will be the B-Main/Mains.  Driver's starting postions in the B-Mains will be lined up by their finishing positions from their heats and by their group's rank. The first non-heat transfer from the group with the fastest overall qualifier will start from the pole position in first B-Main and so on.  The amount of B-Main/Mains transfers will depend on car count.  The fastest overall qualifier to not transfer from a B-Main will be awarded a qualifying provisional and start next to last in the A-Main.  A points provisional will be awarded to the driver who ranks the highest in season points has attempted a qualifying lap, heat race, and B-main will start on the tail of the A-Main.

The A-Main will be lined up with the heat winners inverted by their quaifying times starting up front.  The rest of the heat transfers will lined up by their finishing positions and their group rank.

The number of drivers starting the A-Main will be determined by the track and car count.  The maximum numbers of drivers to start the A-Main field will be predetermined ahead of time and will be listed on the homepage under "next event."  In order to start a full field 31 or more cars must be in attendance.  If 27-30 cars we will start 1 less,  24-27 we will start 2 less, 20-23 we will start 3 less, and 19 or less we will start 4 less than the predetermined amount.

Car Count Scenarios for groups and heat transfers will be as followed:

14-18 cars - 2 groups taking the top 4 from heats. 1 B-Main

19-23 cars - 3 groups taking the top 3 from heats. 1 B-Main

24-30 cars - 3 groups taking the top 3 from heats. 2 B-Mains

31-36 cars - 4 groups taking the top 3 from heats. 2 B-Mains

37-50 cars - 4 groups taking the top 2 from heats. 3 B-Mains

**If needed to make the number of transfers from the B-Mains, we will add an extra car the the A-Main field

5.  RESTARTS

IN ORDER TO CALL A RESTART YOU MUST HAVE THE WORD "RESTART" SAVED IN YOUR QUICK TEXT COMMENTS AND CALL IT BEFORE LAP 2 (OR LAP 3 IN A MAIN)

THE DRIVER OR DRIVERS GUILTY FOR CAUSING A RESTART WILL GO TO THE TAIL OF THE FIELD.  RACE OFFICIALS WILL WATCH THE REPLAY TO DECIDE WHO THE GUILTY PARTY IS.  IF IT'S A RACING DEAL WE MAY NOT PUNISH ANYONE

ALL HEATS, DASHES, AND B MAINS WILL BE ALLOWED 2 RESTARTS 1ST LAP ONLY.  3RD ATTEMPT IS A GO.

THE A MAIN WILL BE THE FIRST 2 LAPS AND IF THE THRID ATTEMPT DOES NOT WORK THE RACE WILL BE LINED UP SINGLE FILE FOR THE 4TH AND FINAL ATTEMPT.

IF, FOR ANY OUT OF THE ORDINARY REASON (SUCH AS A PARKED CAR OR A SERVER ISSUE) A RACE IS STALLED DURING THE RACE AND MUST BE RESTARTED, IT WILL BE RESTARTED IN SINGLE FILE.  HOW EVER MANY LAPS REMAINING WILL BE SET. NO RESTARTS. IF SUCH AN INCIDENT OCCURS AFTER 75% OF THE RACE IS COMPLETE IT WILL BE FINAL.  THE DRIVER OR DRIVERS THAT CAUSE A RESTART WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RETURN TO THE RACE.

HARD CHARGER POINTS-OAS is proud to introduce this new concept into this series. The driver who advances the most postions in the A Main will recieve hard charger points.  They will get 5 points for being the "Hard Charger of the Race" plus 1 point for every position gained (considering they are clean passes). If there is a tie between the number of postions gained the driver who has the best finish will be rewarded with the points. We will add all these points up over the course of the series and give out a "Hard Charger of the Year Award."

7.  HEAT LINEUPS    THERE WILL BE NO QUALFIYING, THEREFORE ALL HEAT LINEUPS WILL BE RANDOM

Heat linups will be inverted by qualifying postions. The pole qualifier will start first in the last heat. Qualifing is not only recomended for points, but also for a better strarting position in heats. You do not have to qualify in order to race, but your started position will be behind those who qualified.

An example heat lineup if 18 cars show up. (Q=qualifying position)

8. RESTART RULE

IF ALL THE DRIVERS PRESENT DO NOT LOAD INTO THE RACE THE RACE MUST BE RESTARTED AND THE HOST MUST GIVE THE DRIVER 5 MINUTES TO RELOAD. THE RESTART DOES NOT COUNT AS 1 OF THE 3 RESTARTS.

All races will have 2 restarts. After 2 restarts the 3rd attempt is a go no unless someone doesn't load.

Heats.......Restart 1st lap only

B-Mains..Restart 2nd lap only

A-Mains..Restart 3rd lap only

If a driver warps or freezes up a race may be restarted from that lap (only if they cause interference).  Remember the current lap and your postition and we will restart from there.  If 75% or more is completed the race may be called and a driver's current postion will be where they will finish. (NOTE-This rule is subject to change it will be up to a OAS official to make the decision based on the given situation)

9.  Qualifying............The format is on the qualifying page.  Each driver gets 3, 3 lap attempts. If there is a tie for the fast lap time, the driver who has the least amount of attempts will be ahead of the driver/drivers who have more.  If they have the same amount of attempts, the driver who qualifies before the others will be ahead. THERE WILL BE NO MORE QUALIFYING THIS SEASON

10. Nobody is perfect, people make mistakes. If somebody wrecks you please remain calm, DO NOT RETALIATE.  A decision will be made by an official on how to handle it. Please do not take matters into your own hands.  If you remain calm there is a possbility that you will recieve their postion, just let us make the call please.
